Are Evangelical Christians Warmongers? by Chuck Baldwin

(Materhopes, Materlearns, Materviews)

Mr. Baldwin speaks as I have thought in my heart, but have not been able to express to my brothers and sisters in corporate church bodies. I pray for the scales of partiality and political party and FOX news to be taken from the eyes of the members of Christ Jesus’ true church.

I was completely speechless when a Christian deacon of a Southern Baptist Church answered my question 3 years ago about the children and women and civilian deaths in the middle east war actions with this, “We have to kill them or they’ll come over here and kill us.” He was 79 years old, the father of 8 children, and a strong-in -body-and-mind-hardworking-fair-dealing-active-in-good-works deacon, his wife taught the women’s Sunday School Class. But he had a totally blind spot when it came to our US government when run by the “right” political party or the “right” application of military might even by the “wrong” party. I saw much more than I ever wanted to see into the corruption of “Christians” who could reconcile that brainwashing from FOX, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O’Relliey, and their “End Time” prophets.

Excerpt;………………. The biggest cheerleaders for the unprovoked, unconstitutional, pre-emptive attack and invasion of Iraq were evangelical Christians. Ditto for the war in Afghanistan, the bombing of Libya, the attacks in Yemen, etc. Who is calling for the bombing of Iran? Evangelical Christians. Who cheers for sending more and more troops all over the world to maim and kill more and more people (including innocents)? Evangelical Christians………….

…………….A recent report noted, “In 120 countries across the globe, troops from Special Operations Command carry out their secret war of high-profile assassinations, low-level targeted killings, capture/kidnap operations, kick-down-the-door night raids, joint operations with foreign forces, and training missions with indigenous partners as part of a shadowy conflict unknown to most Americans. Once ‘special’ for being small, lean, outsider outfits, today they are special for their power, access, influence, and aura.”

Yet, how much of this knowledge would even faze the average evangelical Christian today? All we hear from today’s “churches” is “bomb,” “attack,” “wipe them out,” etc. Then, at the same time, they get all emotional about sending missionaries to the same countries that they had just cheered-on the US military in raining down missiles of death and destruction upon (to bring salvation to the lucky ones that weren’t killed, I suppose).

And who are the ones that belittle and impugn Ron Paul? Evangelical Christians. Why? Because he tells the truth about America’s foreign policy being responsible for much of the hatred and bitterness erupting in foreign countries against us. I guarantee you that many of the “conservative” Republicans who booed Dr. Paul’s comments to this regard at the GOP Presidential debate this week would identify themselves as evangelical Christians.

……………………………………………………..
…………………. But this blind support for illegal, immoral, unconstitutional war is anything but Christian. Not only is it turning people against our country among people abroad, it is turning our own countrymen against the Christ we Christians claim to love right here at home.

I dare say that the modern Warfare State would grind to a screeching halt tomorrow if evangelical Christians would simply stop supporting it! (materhopes emphasis) And the thing that most evangelical Christians fail to realize is that the Warfare State is one of the primary tools that the evil one is using to usher in his devilish New World Order that even babes in Christ know to be of Satan. Hence, Christians are helping to promote the very thing that Satan, himself, is using to enslave them. END EXCERPTS

  1. Ma says:

You are very brave to say this."Happy are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."This another thing that has been niggling at me. We are kind of doing the opposite of what Jesus and Paul said to do..but justifying it away.

  2. Hi Matermuse,In your post you say "a Christian deacon of a Southern Baptist Church answered my question 3 years ago about the children and women and civilian deaths in the middle east war actions with this, "We have to kill them or they'll come over here and kill us.""In my ancient history class we are studying the Romans right now, and interestingly they crushed their "enemies" before they could be crushed by them… but the Romans had a paranoia that their enemies were always just beyond another hill waiting to get them, and we are being told the same thing. The Bible in the book of Revelation reveals that the final kingdom is a conglomerate of all the previous nations, and that it is a huge and vile beast. That is exactly what we are learning in the history class, that western civilization is a continuation of the Roman Empire which was a hybrid mixture of many civilizations that preceded it. We are the Roman Empire (it is not the Vatican, although I'm not implying that the RCC is good, it is a world religious cult)Jesus told us that we are not to have a spirit of fear, but that is exactly what these "leaders" want to inspire in us and then call it patriotism.I posted something that was on the FOX channel about homosexuality, and although I agree we need to speak out about it, I had an ambivalence about how the FOX channel and the AFA are addressing it. Again it is with that "spirit of fear". I do agree that we need to speak out about it and to shield our children from the gross misconducts that are going on as much as possible….but Jesus said we are not to do it with a spirit of fear, or a spirit of "we've got to get rid of them before they get us" attitude. We need to pray for our enemies.

  3. Hi Susan, I'm learning from your class too! Thanks for sharing it, that makes so much sense, it fits that we are the continuation of the Roman Empire. I always wondered about our American melting pot's similarities too. I was fearful about the things I began finding out at the first of my awakening to the nwo, but remembered that fear is not of the Lord and that He tells us to fear God and not man, that assuages my soul, and my trembling heart with the great truth that Jesus protects us and we hang onto Him through all storms, rather if we keep our eyes upon Him. It is far better to know Him than anything else. I do want to know what wicked thing is out there in the dark to avoid it and warn others, but the sum of it all is my prayer for Him to "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." So victory is already assured for those whom Romans 8:28 covers. All things do work together…Praise Him.Pray for our enemies, yes, fearing them makes us unfaithful to our Saviour.

Loving, accepting, has seemed to be branded as "emergent", "liberal", "one world religion", and who wants to be involved with that?! It seems like a scare tactic in way…do you know what I mean?We know what the bible says about the end times…..however. I was a thinkin'.. where does it say that the antichrist will merge all religions (as all the leading prophecy people say will happen)? The only thing I can think of is the beast demanding worship and that he will claim to be God. Other than that, I don't know.Thoughts?

  5. Hi Ma! :)Interestingly, this is also something else that is touched on in my history class ( I have my suspicions that my teacher is a Christian, however he believes in the long age old earth theory (that each day of creation could have been an era, and that the earth could be millions of years old…he said something along that line in one comment on an assignment that I did). The textbook for our class points out that the Caezars and emperors demanded worship as well as obedience, and they hated Christians because Christians refused to bow before them.About the merging of faiths…the early Roman Empire did not demand that as long as they worshiped and obeyed the emperor/caezar or whatever…so ultimately the "religion" he desired was that everyone obey him (regardless of whatever else they practiced ritually speaking, for their private fetishes and superstitions), and then there would be "peace". They wouldn't have cared that the Christians had "church" and prayed to Jesus, and practiced the sacraments, as long as they still said Caezar was a god. They wouldn't do that, hence, they became a threat to the "peace".

  6. Hi Ma & Susan, this has lead me to an all day study of the "end times", I found on my oldest computer filed away for many years a document written around or before 1992, (when GH Bush was still president), by Charlie Samples via Roger Mundy transcribed by Jackie Patru on sweetliberty.org (last actively updated March 9, 2009), called "The Greatest Hoax, A Study of the Inconsistent Theology of Modern Day Bible Prophecy". It's 31 pages long and I'm a slow reader with distractions going on around me, but after rereading it (not agreeing with all of it or understanding all of it either),I am having some correlation thoughts with what we've been discussing and studying lately in our separate posts and comments. It's raising some of your thoughts Ma, "I was a thinkin'.. where does it say that the antichrist will merge all religions (as all the leading prophecy people say will happen)?" I can't find anything yet, and I think Susan, you are certainly onto something. "About the merging of faiths…the early Roman Empire did not demand that as long as they worshiped and obeyed the emperor/caezar or whatever…so ultimately the "religion" he desired was that everyone obey him (regardless of whatever else they practiced ritually speaking, for their private fetishes and superstitions), and then there would be "peace". They wouldn't have cared that the Christians had "church" and prayed to Jesus…"I have firm belief that Jesus Christ's kingdom is not of this earth. Could the prophets (false?) of the last hundred years or so have been lead into the one world order doctrine by C.I. Scofield's sponsors (the Secret Six) and his Oxford inspired footnoted KJV study bible? I've come to conclude that Scofield's footnoted KJV was the first successful assault upon the AKJV through their inclusion/correction/helps which diverged from the Textus Receptus and introduced other rejected manuscripts (Alexandrian and others) and even incorporated the interpretations of Hort and Westcott (their 2 man Revised work that was rejected in the English churches and languishing from disuse) all of whom Scofield credited in his 1st dedication in the front of his bible. It seems the modern church began spreading the teaching of the "secret rapture" in earnest and it's downward spiral at that publishing date.Everything seems to be going in that direction in my studies. The plot has thickened! I'm trying to study the actual Bible without all those end-time doctrines getting in the way, but it's cloudy to me because of preindoctrination, and that being said I STILL need to study men's writings who have knowledge of the last hundred years of church doctrines!!! How to discern who is a false prophet/antichrist, who is merely mislead by others, and who is rightly dividing the truth??? So desiring God's truth, I pray for us all in the search for Biblical interpretation via the only Helper in the task, the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ of Nazareth's name, I pray to our Heavenly Father.

  7. So True, Musemater. We need to be led by the Holy Spirit in all things. We will read men's opinions from time to time, and we have to be discerning. If we rely on our own wisdom we will be led into all kinds of error. But if we continue to seek the Lord in prayer, He will guide us into all that is true, and reveal what is false.I think it is important to know what is wrong with the world as well as knowing what (or Who, rather, the One) is holy and true. He told us that we would know from the signs that He told us about, so I do believe that He wants us to be alert to all that is going on without being caught up into it. I also agree that the secret rapture was a big ruse, it began right around the time of the Millerites who were the precursors to the SDA and EG White (false prophetess for SDA church), and also the JW's came from the Millerite movement. The Millerites were the ones who went to the hilltops dressed in white in 1844 in their belief that the rapture would be in 1844…more than 100 years later….sigh….and for all we know it may be another 100 years yet, Lord Jesus alone knows the day and the hour… and even He didn't know it when He lived amongst us. Pray, pray, pray….

  8. Ma says:

That's a lot to chew on ladies:)I will be thinking upon it this weekend. I am a big fan of end-times stuff and do believe in a literal second coming, but beyond that, a lot of this is back to the drawing board in a lot of ways.Agreeing in prayer with you too for discernment, wisdom and teachability.

Lights to Musings
